둘째, 정량적 비교분석을 위해 전국 16~60세의 남녀 340명을 임의선택 표본 선정한 후Ellis(1993)의 심미성 요소 평가 척도(a scale for the evaluation of the aesthetic element:SEAE)를 배포,회수한 후 SPSS 22.0을 이용해 하위분류 별 평균 차이를 증명하였다.
Abstract
Recently, the possibility of replacing major part of human part by a computer based learning andself-producing artificial neural network –an artificial intelligence(AI)- is introduced, and the fieldof art is no exception. The field of art is considered to be a pure human field, unlike fields thatrequire computation ability. This study aims to investigate the possibility that the visual artists, who use aesthetic impression as a main foundation of creative activities, would be finallyreplaced by the deep learning AI, considering the present deep learning AI technology and theanticipated technological progress. For this purpose, this study compares the aesthetic elementsof the image created by the Korean artist and the image created by “Deep Dream Generator”made by Google, in following two stages: First, for qualitative comparison analysis, this studyshowed aforementioned two images to 30 artistic experts, let them select one of the images thatconsidered as AI creation, and conducted in-depth interviews on the aesthetic elements of theselected image. Second, for quantitative comparative analysis, this study randomly selected 340people aged between 16 and 60 years, conducted a survey(a scale for the evaluation of theaesthetic element:SEAE(Ellis,1993)), and proved the mean difference for each subclass usingSPSS 22.0. The results of the study are as follows: After in-depth interview, it turns out that 27out of 30 artistic experts selected the right answer. However, 48.53% of non-experts failed todistinguish between AI creation and artist’s creation. According to the SEAE score of thenon-expert group, the real image hit higher score in all the sub elements except for Gestaltelement than the AI image, and the difference is statistically significant.
