한글꼴의 속공간 넓이가 독자 심리에 미치는 영향

Abstract

Since its creation, Hangul has formed a beautiful and rich aesthetic sense by meeting various fonts. The shape of the letter is primarily aimed at the accurate delivery of information, but the psychological mechanism it gives is also an important factor. This is because the direction of the selection, acceptance and production of fonts varies depending on the period and character of the text, as well as the transmission of information. In this study, among various factors that form shape fonts, the attention was paid to the width of the inner space and study how changes in the inner space width affect the reader's sensitivity and psychological factors. Experimental method ① Deriving balanced and harmonious characters for 4 types of old fonts and 2 types of modern fonts. ② Investigate the average inner space width of the selected fonts and analyze the correlation between the letters and the inner space width. ③ A sentiment evaluation was conducted to verify the reliability of the derived individuals. Experiment result ① In the balanced and harmonious Hangul font, 2 old fonts and 17 modern fonts were classified. ② The average inner space width of the selected individual characters was 57.16%, and the classified individual characters showed wider inner space compared to the dropped individual characters. ③ In adjective evaluation, the wider the inner space width, the more emotional adjectives such as <harmonious>, <natural>, <delicate>, <elegant>, <clean>, and <comfortable> were derived. Among the various font morphological factors, how the average inner space of the Hangul font acts as a factor of emotional change to readers will be a very important research case for font production and analysis.
