Abstract

TikTok is a representative short form application and is being accepted and used by more and more people. According to TikTok's data tally in 2021, the average number of TikTok users per day is about 400 million. Research on the behavior of TikTok users can strengthen their understanding of individual motivations using short form media platforms, explain the phenomenon of public acceptance, and identify the needs of users. The goal of this article is to demonstrate that a combination model of technology acceptance theory, planned behavior theory, and immersion theory can be used to study the willingness of mobile shortform users, and that cognitive ease, cognitive usefulness, perceived fun, curiosity, and concentration affect user attitudes in TikTok video applications, combined with subjective norms and perceived control. Based on previous studies, this study technically studied the external motives of TikTok users based on the planned behavioral theory, while expanding the immersion theory to study the internal motives of users and presenting hypotheses. In addition, a research model was established, a questionnaire was produced with reference to previous studies, and as a result of distributing it to society, 427 valid questionnaires were acquired. The results of the survey data demonstrated the validity of the research model. The results of the study demonstrated that user ease of use, usefulness, perceived fun, and curiosity have an important influence on accepting and using TikTok. Among them, perceived fun has a greater influence on the user's motivation for use, but it does not affect whether or not to immerse oneself and attitude toward TikTok when using TikTok. According to the research results, users expect easy and useful software while using TikTok, and hope to feel fun and curious. Based on these research results, new ideas were provided for the study of cultural content platforms, and suggestions were made to short form platform developers and content creators.
