본 논문은 ‘시대정신으로서의 사회통합’이라는 테제를 중심으로 현재 우리 사회에 만연해 있는 사회갈등의 원인을 분석하고 사회통합으로 나아가기 위한 청소년 정치시민교육의 재정립에 대한 논의를 연구의 목적으로 한다. 연구의 주된 내용으로는 각각의 사회발전단계에서 요구되는 시대정신을 사회통합적 관점에서 소개하고 또한 드워킨의 정의론에 입각하여 한국사회 시민참여의 문제를 제시했다. 또한 선거권 연령 하향 조정에 따른 청소년 정치시민교육의 필요성을 제시함과 동시에 사회통합의 핵심적인 기재로써 공동체의식 함양의 당위성과 필요성을 제시했다. 연구의 결론으로서, 정치적 진영논리에서 출발하는 사회참여를 지양하고 자기존중(자유)과 동시에 타인에 대한 배려와 인정(평등)이 필요하며 또한 청소년의 사회참여 동기가 개인적 가치뿐만 아니라 ‘우리’라는 공동체적 가치에 기인할 수 있도록 하는 정치시민교육 실천방안 모색이 필요하다.
Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the causes of social conflicts in our society and discuss the re-establishment of youth political citizenship education in order to advance into social integration, centering on the thesis of ‘social integration as the spirit of the times’. As the main research contents, the spirit of the times required at each stage of social development was introduced from the perspective of social integration, and the problem of citizen participation in Korean society was presented based on Dworkin's theory of justice. In addition, the necessity of cultivating a sense of community as a core material for social cohesion was presented as well as the necessity of political citizenship education for youth in accordance with the lowering of the voting age. As a conclusion of the study, it is necessary to avoid social participation starting from the political faction logic, consider self-respect (freedom) and at the same time consider and acknowledge others (equality). It is necessary to find ways to practice political citizenship education that can be attributed to community values.
