Abstract
Although some retail chains(e.g., Costco, Home Depot) are successful with their minimalist warehouse-style shopping environments, retailers that recognize the significant impact of store environment on consumer behavior, devote considerable resources to store design and merchandise presentation activities. Among theses retailers(e.g., ¡'T-World¡by SKT', ¡'Show ¡by KTF, ¡'Phone and Fun¡by LGT', Orange Shop, Apple Shop, and SONY experience shop), players in the mobile industry attempt to create experience environments in their stores that encourage shopping. Although considerable research has examined the impact of various store environment elements on shopping behavior, the existing research does not provide an explanation for the experience component's impacts on store performance. Therefore, this article identifies the process that creates store performance by experience components in store. To find key variables, the author implements in-depth interview with top mangers of stores such as 'T-World', 'SHOW', 'Phone and Fun'. The objective of this article is to present and provide empirical support for a theoretical framework that outlines the impact of experience components in a store environment on consumer's emotional and cognitive responses, and relationship with store performance. The author collected survey data and total respondents were 749 (93.6%) of total respondents. The results of the structural modeling equation indicate that as the level of experience component increases, the positive emotional response and knowledge about the product/service of the consumer are enhanced. Also, as the level of positive emotional response and knowledge about product/ service of the consumer increases, positive store attitude and innovative image of the corporate which operates the store are enhanced.
