Abstract
With the recent increase in interest in regional economic revitalization and fresh food consumption, the importance of brand strategies of agricultural products has received much attention. This study explores how the interaction effects between the production-process imagery and consumers’ regulatory focus occur. According to results, promotion-focused participants perceived higher quality of presented agricultural products under the brand tagline in which the production-process imagery is induced (vs. without the production-process imagery). In contrast, prevention-focused participants perceived no different quality of them regardless of the production-process imagery. The imagery of the final benefit of agricultural products and the perceived risk appeared as the psychological mechanisms of these results. And these two mechanisms were appeared separately depending on each of consumers’ regulatory focus. This study provides practical implications for individual farmers and companies to establish the brand strategies of agricultural products with the boom of live streaming commerce.
