가면극의 민속적 요소 - 한국의 하회와 베트남의 뚜엉(Tuồg)

가면극은 전세계적으로 보편적인 무대공연의 한 장르이다. 동아시아와 동남아시아에서 가면극은 문화의례, 예술, 오락과 밀접한 관계를 지니고 있다. 탈의 종류, 시나리오, 음악, 춤 등 가면극의 요소들은 민속 문화와 관련이 있다. 이 글에서는 한국의 하회별신굿 탈놀이와 베트남의 뚜엉(Tuồng) 두 가면극에 나타난 민속 문화의 요소들을 비교해보았다. 하회탈놀이와 뚜엉은 기원, 역사, 공연 내용 등에서 차이가 있지만, 하회탈놀이와 뚜엉, 특히 짭 디어 낭(chặp Địa Nàng) 장르는 모두 민속 문화에 깊은 영향을 받고 밀접한 관계를 가진다는 점에서 공통점을 찾아볼 수 있었다.
Abstract
Dance mask drama is a popular form of performance all over the world. In East Asia and Southeast Asia, mask theatre is associated with ritualism, art and entertainment. In addition, folklore elements in the literary scenario, in the form of masks, in music and dance are also visible in mask theatre. This article compares the folk cultural elements in Hahoe and Tuồng, from then on emphasize that: although the origin, history and content of performances are very different, Hahoe mask theatre and Tuồng mask theatre, especially chặp Địa Nàng genre, influenced by folk culture strongly. These folklore elements are different in terms of expression but have similarities in the principle of mobilization.
