초록

이 논문은 고대 근동의 종교적 전통에 대한 구약의 활용 방식을 확인하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이는 구약이 특정 지역의 전통들도 수용하였을 뿐만 아니라 이를 재생산하는 흔적을 확인할 수 있기 때문이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 시편 68편의 바산에 관해 언급되는 내용을 분석하고자 한다. 이는 시편 68편에서 바산은 주요한 장소로 나타나는데, 본문에서 언급되는 바산에 대한 이해는 분명히 종교적인 전통을 반영하고 있기 때문이다. 즉, 이 과정을 통해서 특정 지역의 종교적 이해가 종교적 전통으로 자리 잡은 과정을 살펴볼 수 있게 된다. 이를 위해 바산에 관한 고대 근동의 사료를 분석하여 바산의 종교적 전통의 존재 여부를 확인하고자 한다. 그리고 이 전통이 시편 68편에서 수용되고 활용되는 양상을 확인하고자 한다. 이 과정은 구약이 고대 근동의 종교적인 전통을 활용하는 양상과 이유를 밝혀줄 것이다.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the use of the Old Testament within the religious traditions of the ancient Near East. Traces of the Old Testament not only adopting but also reproducing local traditions can be observed. To achieve this, we will examine the references to Bashan in Psalm 68, as Bashan is presented as a significant location in the psalm, reflecting an underlying religious tradition. In other words, this approach helps us understand how a regional religious understanding evolved into a broader religious tradition. To carry out this analysis, we will first examine ancient Near Eastern sources concerning Bashan to determine whether a distinct religious tradition surrounding this region existed. We will then investigate how this tradition is adopted and employed in Psalm 68. This analysis will illuminate how and why the Old Testament integrates religious traditions from the ancient Near East.
