<하생기우전>의 결말구조 양상과 그 의미

Abstract

This thesis studied about the meaning of ending in Hasanggiwoojeon in terms of literature history. First after looking around a whole structure and ending of this work, the ending function is studied under several kinds of way. Based on this, the meaning of ending characteristic is talked in terms of novel history. To summarize the discussions until now as a conclusion is as in the following. First, it studied about the relationship in the whole structure in Hasanggiwoojeon to its ending. This work is divided into three steps highly. The first step is a existence of deficiency. And the gap between main character and society touched off conflict. In second step is trying to solve the conflict by finding a solution. In third step the lack or semi lack is solved, and reveals satisfied world. Therefore the first and second are an incompletion stage, and the third is a completion stage based on carnality. Second, it studied about the function of ending structure in Hasanggiwoojeon. This work postulates a world of death, and with a God’s help reproduction happens in that world. So the dualism view of the world is relatively clear. This work puts emphasis on individual narrative and family narrative. In the ending of returning to the real world from the next world, it can be checked by marriage and making family. And then this work assume the attitude of an onlooker to the world. Because to achieve an individual desire, it compromises with a society problem properly. Finally the main character of this work tries to realize contorted ideology of Confucianism. It is proved by rising in the world and gaining fame, and gaining a glory of porthole of the family. Third, it studied about the meaning of ending structure in Hasanggiw oojeon. This work’s ending contents can’t check in existing romance nar rative. On the other hand, in the later novel it is so general. In comparis on to the Korean romance Manboksajeopogi, Hasanggiwoojeon has a littl e tension, but it has a new directivity beyond an existing narrative. So t his work’s ending shows a changing figure from Korean romance to nov el. In that sense, this work is an important status of the korean literatur e history.
