북방 의식과 디아스포라 - 1930~1940년대 백석, 이용악, 윤동주의 시를 중심으로

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the specific aspects of the northern consciousness and diaspora of the time through a series of northern-related poems that appeared in the 1930s and 1940s. This study dealt with the cases of Baek Seok, Lee Yong-ak, and Yun Dong-ju, who created works related to the North during this period. Baek Seok recognizes the northern part as the base of a huge narrative called the national historical movement of the Korean people. Therefore, it shows the impression that the north is the placenta of the Korean people. His perception is also complex in that it is accompanied by a sense of loss that there is nothing left now. This consciousness, which appeared in the early days of Baekseok's Manchuria migration, is gradually mixed with the experience of his personal wandering, changing into a lonely feeling of self-comfort and remorse as a diaspora. In the case of Lee Yong-ak, the northern consciousness includes the dailyization of life across borders and wandering on the outskirts. In his poem, the north is a space beyond the border and a tragic family narrative that suffers from collapse, separation, and dissolution. In this respect, his diaspora experience has a dual character that expresses his longing for his hometown, but on the other hand, never expresses his hometown warmly. Yun Dong-ju's early northern consciousness is more of an ordinary Nostalgia than a consciousness as a diaspora. However, the conflict between the hometown of reality and the hometown as a justification is linked to the issue of one's situation and self-identity as a controlled colonist, causing Yoon Dong-ju to worry for a long time. The place where he finally reached through such anguish is a pledge to awareness and determination of the times.
