초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the constituent factors of reading fluency and suggest repeated reading instruction for improving reading fluency in KSL. In this paper, the definition of reading fluency is redefined as the ability to read the text rapidly, accurately, and to read appropriate expression during the interaction between text and reader. That is, the reading fluency can connect the lower reading processing with the higher reading processing. This paper divided factors of reading fluency into three categories such as internal, external and procedural factors. The external factors are accuracy, rapidity, and prosody, and linguistic knowledge and background knowledge belongs to the internal factors. The procedural factors include automaticity and strategic knowledge. This study suggest some considerations for utilizing reading instruction and also provide the characteristic and the types of repeated reading(RR) to improve reading fluency.
