중국 초등학교 어문 교과서의 체제와 내용 분석

Abstract

The objective of this study is to provide implications for the improvement of the Korean textbooks and better understanding the native language education in China by analyzing the format of and content of Chinese vernacular textbooks. To achieve the purpose of the study, this study selected the 6th grade vernacular textbooks named ‘YUWEN’ published by People’s Education Press and Beijing Publishing House, respectively and analyzed the aspects of format and content of the textbooks. The Chinese vernacular textbooks consist of one textbook of a single volume book for one semester, which is different from Korean textbook that has a supplementary textbook developed to be of a workbook nature, and their sizes and volumes are smaller than those of Korean counterparts. In terms of unit structure, the two textbooks are different; the textbook published by People’s Education Press is based on themes, while that of Beijing Publishing House is text-centered. However, both textbooks allow for the selective learning of texts and contain unit components to encourage learning motivation. The two textbooks equally deal with many texts to promote patriotism and also include various texts relating to human emotions and arts in order to nurture humanistic knowledge. The texts listed in the textbooks are generally short and mainly based on classic literatures works, which distinguish themselves from the Korean textbooks. In terms of learning activities, both textbooks place emphasis on memorizing activities of learning literary works through recitation, systemic activities in which listening, reading and writing are organically linked, and reading activities for expansion by intertextuality.
