문법 지식에 기초한 문장 교육이 글쓰기 능력에 미치는 효과

초록

이 글에서는 먼저, 문법 지식에 기초한 문장 교육이 글쓰기 능력을 유의미하게 향상시키는지를 살펴보려고 한다. 그리고 이와 더불어 이러한 문법 교육이 문장이나 스타일과 같은 글의 형식적인 측면의 능력 향상에만 국한되지 않고 글쓰기 능력의 다른 측면에도 유의미한 영향을 미칠 수 있는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 이 글에서는 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 글쓰기 수업의 두 개 분반을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 나누어 사전/사후 검사를 실시하여 실험하고, 문법 지식에 기초한 문장 교육의 효과가 글쓰기 능력의 어떤 부분에 영향을 미치는지를 보기 위해 실험 대상 글에 대해 분석적 평가를 실시한다.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to verify SEKG’s effects. To prove that not only does SEKG improve students’ sentence-writing-skills but also it reinforce their other writing skills, we conducted an experimental research with SEKG as a treatment variable targeting fifty undergraduate students. Students in the control group received an education on general process-centered rewriting while those in the experimental group were provided with an education both on process-focused rewriting and SEKG. Further, we observed which parts of writing skills were altered when students from the experimental group rewrote their academic writing. As a result, we found that the experimental group students for whom we carried out SEKG exhibited higher and more even level of improvements on writing skill then the other group. Students in control group tend to revise their draft by adding detail description. But most of them couldn't notice content of draft which is not suitable for writer's main purpose. On the other hand, students of experimental group tend to easily notice ‘wrong’ content while they revise sentence construction therefore they can make their draft more coherent. This result shows that SEKG help improving student's writing ability in general.
