‘암시된 저자’를 경유하는 시 텍스트의 독해 고찰 -‘화자가 희미한(Nonnarrated) 텍스트’와 ‘결함이 있거나(Fallible) 신뢰할 수 없는(Unreliable) 화자의 텍스트’를 중심으로

암시된 저자와 (비)신뢰성(un)reliability에 관한 논쟁들을 살펴볼 때, 암시된 저자는 부스Booth가 고안한 것이지만 매우 다양한 논자들의 그것에 관한 적용, 비판, 옹호, 갱신 등에 의한 복합적 특성을 지니게 되었음을 알 수 있다. 특히 최근에 와서 현대작품들에서의 복합적 서술자들의 특성에 관한 규명이 중요성을 지니게 되었다. 즉 특정한 화자의 텍스트를 이해하는 것에서 독자들이 ‘인격화’된personificated ‘암시된 저자’를 경유하는 독해방식의 유효성이 많은 이론가들에게 설득력을 얻게 되었다. 이 글은, 최근에 다수의 연구자들에 의하여 입증된, 암시된 저자를 경유하는 독자들의 독해방식이 유효한 텍스트의 유형, 즉 ‘화자의 존재가 희미한 텍스트Nonnarrated Text’ 그리고 ‘결함이 있는 화자fallible narrator’와 ‘신뢰할 수 없는 화자unreliable narrator’의 텍스트를 들어 분석하였다. 이 의도에 부합된 작품으로서 주로 박인환의 시를 들어서 실제저자의 분신으로서의 작중화자 곧 ‘암시된 저자’를 경유하는 독해방식을 취하였다. 그 결과, ‘화자가 희미한 텍스트’ 그리고 ‘오류가 있거나 신뢰하기 어려운 화자의 텍스트’에 나타나는 분열된 목소리들에 대하여 ‘인격화된’ 작중 저자 곧 실제저자의 분신이라는 맥락과 관련지어 독해함으로써 표층적인 층위에 머무르기 쉬웠던 작중 화자의 심층적 의미항들이 구체화될 수 있었다.
Abstract
Reviewing arguments about the implied author and the (un)reliability, the implied author devised by Booth has developed by diverse scholars who have applied, criticized, protected, and renewed it. Especially in these days his theory is one of the key ones because understanding complex narrators is very important in modern literature. Namely literature theorists admit that ‘Implied author’ is very useful for readers to understand texts. This essay examines texts such as ‘Non-narrated’ text, ‘fallible narrator’ text, and ‘unreliable narrator’ text. A great number of scholars proved that ‘Implied author’ as a personified agency is an effective tool for readers to comprehend texts. For this study Park In Whan’s poetry is mainly examined. Consequently, In those texts, Using the method of the Implied Author made it possible to understading their senses in depth.
