内容言語統合型学習(CLIL)を導入した日本語授業に対する韓国人日本語学習者の認識― SDGsの学習と言語4技能の伸長を焦点に ―

本研究の目的は大学生の韓国人日本語学習者(以下、対象者)を調査対象として、内容言語統合型学習(Content and Language Integrated Learning, CLIL)を導入した日本語授業において対象者が持続可能な開発目標(Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs)の学習と自身の言語4技能の伸長をどのように認識したかを調査し、CLILを授業に導入する時の基礎的知見を得ることである。 調査対象は忠清南道所在S大学において開設された「日本語フリートーキング」の受講者8名である。調査方法は対象者に対してインタビューを行い、これをテキスト化した後、SCAT(Steps for Coding and Theorization)を用いて分析した。また、SDGsの学習と言語4技能に対する参加者自らによる自己評価を分析した。 その結果、(1)SDGsの学習について対象者は全体的に肯定的な認識をしていた。(2)言語4技能の伸長については日本語の実力が上位にある対象者ほど技能の伸長を感じておらず、特にスピーキングとライティングの伸長を感じていなかった。(1)については対象者が成人であった事と対象者が学習テーマを主体的に決定した事、(2)については適切なフィードバックが不足していたなど、自己効力感を促すための方略が充分ではなかった事が影響していると推論した。調査結果から授業にCLILを導入するにはインストラクショナル・デザインに関する研究成果を援用するべきという提言を行った。
Abstract
This study aims to investigate how Korean university students (hereinafter referred to as “subjects”) perceive their development of the four language skills and their acquisition of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Japanese classes, in which content and language integrated learning (CLIL) has been introduced. Moreover, the study aims to obtain basic knowledge pertaining to the introduction of CLIL in the class. Eight students participated in the “Free Japanese Conversation” course offered at University S, located in Chungcheongnam-do. The survey method included interviews with the subjects, which were later transcribed and analyzed using the steps for coding and theorization. In addition, we analyzed the participants’ self-evaluation of their acquisition of the SDGs and four language skills. The results indicated that (1) the subjects had an overall positive perception of their acquisition of SDGs and (2) regarding the development of the four language skills, the higher the subjects’ Japanese language proficiency was, the less improvement they perceived in their skills development, especially in the development of their speaking and writing skills. It was inferred that since the subjects were adults and independently chose their learning themes, this affected their acquisition of SDGs. Furthermore, inadequate strategies, such as a lack of appropriate feedback, to promote self-efficacy had an impact on their development of the four language skills. Based on the survey results, it was concluded that to introduce CLIL in classes, referring to the results of research on instructional design is advisable.
