This study aims to research the test-takers' perception of the prompt given by the TOPIK II (Test of Proficiency in Korean II) writing question 54. The prompt phrases, which were given in the writing assessment part of the 52nd, 60th, and 64th TOPIK II test, were used as research material, and a questionnaire survey was conducted to research the test-takers' perception of the prompt phrases in various aspects. Specifically, the questions in the questionnaire were organized and examined how the test-takers approach the given prompt, how the prompt affects performing the writing task, perception of the prompt content composition, difficulty of the prompt, and opinions on the prompt composition, etc. Through research on how writing prompts affect the performance of test takers in previous studies, the study is meaningful in that there have been no studies in this field in Korean language education, and some implications for TOPIK II based on the test takers' perception.
