섬 치유자원에 대한 고찰

초록
치유 및 휴양에 대한 국민적 관심과 함께 산림 분야에서 먼저 도입되어 해양, 농업 분야로 확대되고 있으며 정부는 치유산업 육성을 위하여 각 부처별로 발전 전략을 수립하고, 농촌, 산림, 해양 등의 치유활성화 정책을 적극적으로 추진하고 있다. 반면 섬 치유 분야는 도입 초창기로 잠재력은 있으나 관련 연구나 정책이 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 현대 도시민의 치유 공간으로서의 치유자원을 활용한 섬의 가치를 제고하고자 한다. 구체적으로는 섬 치유 분야에 적용할 수 있는 전략적 접근을 하고자 농촌치유, 산림치유, 해양치유 사례를 검토하였고 선행연구의 고찰을 통해 섬 치유자원을 분석하여 섬이 치유공간으로서 활용 가능한지 분석하고자 한다. 섬 치유는 치유자원, 입지환경, 지역특성 등이 중요하다. 우리나라 섬은 이러한 측면에서 나름의 강점과 잠재력을 갖고 있다. 섬의 치유자원은 자연치유자원, 문화치유자원이다. 섬의 자연치유자원은 농업치유자원, 산림치유자원, 해양 치유자원이다. 섬의 문화치유자원은 역사문화유적, 페쇄적 문화, 독자적 문화, 농업활동, 어업활동, 문화활동 등으로 육지와 다른 문화가 생성되기도 하고 육지로부터 들어온 문화를 보전하기도 한다. 이러한 문화의 이질성은 도시인을 비롯한 육지인에게는 치유자원으로 활용이 가능하다. 섬의 대표적인 특징인 삼면이 바다인 환해성, 교통의 불편한 고립성, 좁은면적의 협소성, 육지와의 접근성의 불편한 격절성이다. 이러한 섬의 특징은 현대 도시인들은 건강한 삶, 보다 행복한 삶 등을 추구하는 것에 부합되기도 한다. 도시생활, 직장생활, 오염된 환경에서 벗어난 생활, 또는 틀에 짜인 생활 등으로부터 탈출하여 힐링하고자 하는 도시민들에게는 섬은 치유공간으로서 활용할 가치가 있는 것으로 사료된다. 마지막으로 본 연구에서는 세 가지 시사점을 제시한다. 첫째, 농촌지역, 해양지역, 산림지역과 다른 섬 지역은 차별화된 섬 자원을 활용하여 치유 컨텐츠를 만들어야 할 것이다. 둘째, 섬 지역의 환경과 특성화를 고려하여 섬 치유 공간으로서의 역할 수용가능성 여부도 고려해야 할 것이다. 셋째, 치유프로그램을 운영하고자 하는 인력 및 관리, 시설 등의 검증을 고민해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
Healing resources were first introduced in the forest sector and expanded to the marine and agricultural sectors along with public interest in healing and rest, and the government has established development strategies for each ministry to foster the healing industry and is actively encouraging policies to promote healing in rural areas, forests, and oceans. On the other hand, the island healing field has potential in the early stages of introduction, but related research and policies are insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to enhance the value of the islands using healing resources as a healing space for modern urban residents. Specifically, it calls for a strategic approach that can be applied to the island healing field, thus cases of healing in rural areas, forests, and oceans were reviewed; and island healing resources were analyzed to review whether an island could be used as a healing space. Healing resources, location environment, and regional characteristics are important for island healing, in this respect Korean islands have their own strengths and potential. The healing resources of an island are natural healing resources and cultural healing resources. The island's natural healing resources are agricultural healing resources, forest healing resources, and marine healing resources. The island's cultural healing resources preserve the culture from the land and create a culture different from that of the land by historical and cultural relics, closed culture, independent culture, agricultural activities, fishing activities, and cultural activities. This heterogeneity of culture can be used as a healing resource for urbanites and other mainlanders. The typical characteristics of islands are the sea on all sides, the isolation from uncomfortable traffic, a small restrictive area, and the uncomfortable separation from land access. The island's characteristics are also consistent with the pursuit of a healthy and happier life for modern urbanites. For urban residents who want to escape from urban life, work life, polluted environments, or typical life, the island is considered worth using as a healing space. Finally, this study presents three implications. First, rural, marine, forest, and other island areas should create healing content using differentiated island resources. Second, it is necessary to consider the possibility of accepting the role as an island healing space in consideration of the environment and characteristics of the island area. Finally, it is also necessary to consider verifying the manpower, management, and facilities to operate the healing program.
