본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 해양치유에 대한 학술적 논의와 관심, 현실에서의 도입 가능성을 전반적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 해양치유의 근본적인 목적은 ‘바다(海)’와 ‘인간(人)’의 만남을 통한 건강하고 예방적인 휴식과 치유이다. 국내에서 바다와 해양자원을 이용한 치유, 휴양과 관련된 학문적 논의는 그 시작이 불과 얼마 되지 않았다. 그러나 2020년 ‘해양치유자원의 관리 및 활용에 관한 법률(해양치유법)’의 제정을 계기로, 해양치유에 대한 국내적 관심과 수요는 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 일부 섬 지역 및 연안지역에서는 해양치유 자원을 활용한 실용화 및 산업화를 추진하고 있다. 본 연구는 우리나라 해양치유를 여러 방면에서 실험하고 있는 도서와 연안지역에 대해 각각의 아이디어와 사례를 분석하였다. 대상지역은 전라남도 완도, 충청남도 태안, 경상북도 울진, 경상남도 고성 등이었다. 완도는 남해 도서형 입지의 스포츠 재활형 해양치유모델이었고, 태안은 서해 연안형 입지의 레저 복합형 모델, 울진은 동해 연안형 입지의 장기 체류형 모델, 고성은 남해 연안형 입지의 기업 연계형 모델로 분석되었다. 따라서 이러한 분석을 토대로 본 연구는 우리나라 해양치유정책과 산업의 현주소를 진단하면서, 향후 해양치유의 연착륙과 발전방향을 전망하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to comprehensively analyze the academic discussion and interest in marine healing and sea therapy, the present situation, and the possibility of future practical application. The basic purpose of marine healing is to take a healthy rest and healing through the meeting of sea and people. With the enactment of the Marine Healing Act in 2020, public interest and demand for marine healing are expected to increase significantly. First of all, this study considered the concept and significance of marine healing, the types and effects of marine healing, the trends of marine healing in developed foreign countries, and the trends of marine healing in Korea. The study also analyzed marine healing ideas and examples recently being tested in major islands and coastal areas in Korea. The target areas were Wando-gun in Jeollanam-do, Taean-gun in Chungcheongnam-do, Uljin-gun in Gyeongsangbuk-do and Goseong-gun in Gyeongsangnam-do. Therefore, based on these analyses and discussions, this study suggested the effective introduction and practicalization of marine healing in the future.
