초등학교 저학년 기초 문식성 교수 학습 방법－‘개미[ㅐ]와 베짱이[ㅔ]’가르치기－

초등학교 저학년 문식성 연구는 국어교육학의 매우 중요한 과제이지만 먼저 학제적인 연구를 통해서 그 연구 영역과 과제를 좀더 정교하게 다듬을 필요가 있다고 보고, 언어 발달을 연구하는 학문의 관심 영역과 연구 과제 등을 살펴보았다. 그리고 저학년 문식성의 핵심이 되는 기초 문식성의 개념은 그다지 명료하지 못해 기초 문식성을 재개념화 하여 초기 읽기 수준은 ‘단어와 독자의 배경 지식을 중심으로 한 읽기’로, 초기 쓰기 수준으로 ‘통사적 변이와 통제가 자유롭지 못한 단문 형태의 글쓰기’로 제시하였다. 또한 현행 2007 개정 국어과 교육과정을 재검토한 뒤 기초 문식성 지도 내용과 지도 단계 등도 살펴보았다. 기초 문식성 교수 학습 방법은 기존의 ‘발음중심 지도 방법’과 ‘의미중심 지도 방법’을 검토하였는데, 이 두 가지 방법 모두 교수 학습 방법 안내와 교재 개발에 많은 도움을 주었지만 가장 기본적인 음운 인식과 음독 방법을 제대로 해결하지 못하고 개별적인 활동을 제시하는 수준으로 끝나버렸음을 지적하였다. 이런 한계를 극복하는 대안으로 사회인지적 접근법을 기초로 한 기초 문식성 교육의 설계 원리 세 가지를 제시하고, 이 원리를 토대로 ‘일으키기’, ‘이어가기’, ‘바꾸기’, ‘매듭짓기’라는 4단계의 ‘놀이를 통한 기초 문식성 교수 학습 방법’을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study is very important subject in Korean language education, but it needs to survey the subject more elaborately by studying inter-discipline. After that I re-conceptualize the fundamental literacy in elementary school. The level of early reading is ‘reading based on the words and background knowledge of readers’ and the level of early writing is ‘writing based on simple sentences which are not free from of variations and controls of syntax.’And I survey the methods of fundamental literacy which are ‘based on the pronunciation’ and ‘based on the meaning’, the two methods are very helpful to guide of teacher and to develop text, but they can not solve the problem of cognition of phoneme of [æ] and [e]. So alternatively I proposed the method of fundamental literacy based on play which are detracted from social-cognitive approach, and it is composed of four steps which are beginning, connecting, changing, and concluding.
