문학 기반 문해력 교육이 갖는 의의와 방향을 탐색하였다. 문학의 본질 관점에서 보면 문학이 갖는 맥락성, 문학 언어의 반복성은 문해력 학습의 흥미와 효율성을 높이고 초인지적 문해력 촉진하며, 문학의 즐거움은 문해 인지 부담 축소 및 지속적 참여를 가능케 한다. 또 문학 활동은 창의성을 기반으로 한다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 아동의 발달 관점에서 본 의의는 아동의 읽기 전략은 서사 듣기-말하기에서 출발하여 설명글 읽기-쓰기로 나아간다는 점, 아동의 단어 해독 능력은 단어-음절-음운인식 순으로 진행되는 점, 해독과 독해는 연속적 발달 기능이 아닌 점과 관련하여 정리하였다. 경험 교육의 관점에서 아동 청각적 식별 및 인식을 경험과 문해력의 관계, 성숙이 아닌 경험의 결과로 획득되는 읽기 능력, 문학을 통한 이야기 경험의 초인지 지식 형성과 활용 관련성, 학습자의 흥미 요인의 중요성을 들어 그 의의를 탐색하였다. 문학 기반 문해력 교육의 방향으로 흥미 중심, 맥락 중심, 지속ㆍ반복 활동 중심, 초인지적 점검 중심, 총체적 활동 중심, 그리고 삶에의 유의미성을 강조하는 문해력 교육의 여섯 가지를 제안하였다.
Abstract
The concept and developmental characteristics of literacy were organized based on the results of previous research, and the current status of research and implementation of literacy education was explored based on the current curriculum. The significance of literature-based literacy education was organized from the perspective of the essence of literature, the perspective of child development, and the perspective of experiential education. Based on this, the principles of literature-based literacy education were proposed as the principles of enjoyment, contextual activity, repetition, meta-cognitive self-checking, totality, and intrinsic motivation.
