개정 사립학교법에 대한 논쟁의 기독교 교육적 함의

Abstract

Recently Korean society has sharply divided into two camps, ie. liberals and egalitarians. Egalitarians are not compatible with liberals concerning many educational issues including the private school law. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the debate on the revised private school law and its implications for Christian education. To accomplish this goal, I reviewed the main burning issues on the revised private school law, and pointed out the limitations of a view which uses the law for the political and ideological purposes. I assert that the private school law should be established or revised from an educational point of view rather than a political point of view. However, the revised private school law determined neither educationally nor democratically. Nonetheless, the debate on the revised private school law shed light on Christian education in two ways, ie. a negative and a positive one. On the one hand, it reflects seriously to what mission schools have existed for. It compels us to seek he direction of education which is based firmly on a Christian worldview on the other.
