사회주의 페미니즘은 ‘이중의 억압’이라는 패러다임에서 ‘교차성’ 패러다임으로 이동하는 과정을 보여준다. 서구사회가 계급사회에서 복지국가로 안정화하면서 계급 간 젠더 차이가 동질화했기 때문이다. 반면 그런 과정의 이면에서 인종적, 민족적, 종족적 격차가 더욱 가시화하면서, ‘교차성’ 개념은 ‘이중, 삼중의 억압’과는 전혀 다른 성격을 갖는다고 설명되었다. 그러면서 구조주의나 입장이론에 대항하여 사회적 구성주의나 신유물론의 관점이 대두했고, 이론적 논쟁이 야기되었다. 이 논문의 문제의식은 ‘그러한 이론적 논쟁을 어떻게 이해할 것인가?’에 있다. 즉 이론적 문제의 핵심이 무엇인가부터 명확히 해야 한다는 목적에서 연구를 시작했다. 그리하여 우선 교차성 이론과 탈근대 페미니즘에서 ‘차이’를 다루는 관점을 비교하고, 그를 통해 이론적 문제들이 무엇인지를 가능한 한 명확하게 도출할 것이다. 그리하여 이론적 문제의 윤곽을 명확히 밝힌 상태에서, 문제해결의 가능성을 간단히 시사하는 것으로 논문을 마무리하고자 한다.
Abstract
The socialist feminism tried originally to explain the double oppression of women in the labor class. But in the development of the welfare state, the gender difference between classes were weakened, while race, national, and ethnic differences among women are starting to be taken as a more serious problem. As a result, the feminism of difference began to focus on the intersectionality, which is again theoretically more or less challenged by post-structuralist or new-materialist feminism. This study starts from the question, how we can understand properly the theoretical discussions mainly between the intersectionality approaches of the women of color and the social constructivist feminism. So I try firstly to map the positions of and relations between the perspectives, and then suggest their possible compatibility in the quantum perspective of Karen Barad.
