어문 규범 교육과 연계한 국어사 교육 연구고등학교 ‘국어 II’ 교과서를 중심으로

본고에서는 국어사 교육을 활성화할 수 있는 방안의 하나로서 어문 규범 교육과 연계될 수 있는 부분을 찾아 그 구체적인 교육 방안을 보이고자 한다. 구체적인 논의를 위해 논의의 대상은 현행 고등학교 ‘국어 II’ 교과서의 국어사 단원으로 한정하였다. 국어사 교육은 단지 옛말의 특징을 설명하는 것이 아니라 학습자가 옛말과 현재의 말을 비교, 고찰하는 활동을 통해 스스로 탐구하고 이해하게 만들어야 한다. 따라서 실제 언어생활에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 어문 규범을 국어사 교육 내용과 연계할 수 있다면 국어사 교육을 효과적으로 수행할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 어문 규범의 전통을 더 정확하고 깊이 있게 이해하는 데 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This paper aims to show methods of linkage education between Korean language history and Korean language standard which includes Korean orthography and standard Korean. The education of Korean language standard begins from elementary school and continues to high school, so learners are accustomed to it. On contrary, the education of Korean language history starts on high school and is confined within narrow limits. Even though the education of Korean language history is not popular and learners are unaccustomed to it, this is an important part to understand contemporary Korean language and Korean cultural heritage. In chapter 2, I analyze the contents of 'Korean language history' unit in 'Korean II' textbooks based on 2012 revised-curriculum. Textbooks show some difference, but they also have something in common in historical materials and contents. In chapter 3, I show that it is possible to relate between education of Korean language history and Korean language standard. Learners can understand the contents of Korean language history based on knowledge about Korean language standard, that is Korean orthography and standard Korean. At the same time, knowledge about Korean language history can help understanding the tradition of Korean language standard more accurately.
