헤겔의 『안티고네』독해 속에서 망각된 시원인 모계혈통 : 뤼스 이리가레의 헤겔 비판을 중심으로

Abstract

This paper has two aims. To begin with, I will attempt to elucidate Luce Irigaray’s articulation that casts doubt on a Hegel’s premise that a dichotomy between State and Family in “Spirit” of Phenomenology of Spirit depends on natural sexual differences. On top of that, I will attempt to review this Irigaray’s criticism on that Hegel’s premise. Irigaray points out that this dichotomy determined by natural sexual differences is based merely on Hegel’s arbitrary division and the erasure moment of this arbitrary division is the very condition of possibility of the objective spirit in “Spirit”. According to Irigaray, this dichotomy follows three steps; 1) assimilation feminity to masculinity, 2) exclusion of the feminity having differences from masculinity. 3) return to the assimilated feminity for concealing 1),2). Irigaray unearths 1),2) in “Animal Organism” of Hegel’s Philosophy of Nature and in “Self Consciousness” of Phenomenology of Spirit, showing that the stage of ancient Greek Ethical World in “Spirit” follows 3). This Irigaray’s argument that the dichotomy in the field of philosophy, including Hegel’s, follows 1),2),3) plays a significant role in Irigaray’s texts since Irigaray continuously uses it as a critical tool, even after the criticism on Hegel’s Antigone reading.
