Abstract
Ecofeminism has long developed a discourse similar to the main arguments of posthumanism, yet its contributions have largely been undervalued. With the growing attention to ecofeminism amid the climate crisis, it is now undergoing a process of reevaluation. Notably, Rosi Braidotti, in Posthuman Feminism, acknowledges ecofeminism as a key philosophical source for her posthumanist thought. This marks a significant shift, considering that in her earlier works she had regarded ecofeminism as a universalist form of neo-humanism. This paper critically examines Braidotti's commentary on ecofeminism and seeks to highlight the tensions and differences that prevent the two discourses from being inscribed within a single genealogy. These tensions are related to differing perspectives on technology and political positioning. While Braidotti's reevaluation provides a fruitful space for productive interaction between the two frameworks, a more meaningful political perspective in response to the urgent conditions of the climate crisis requires deeper engagement with the insights of ecofeminism.
