Abstract
This study, titled 'Research Trends in Sports Safety: Focusing on Korea and American Academic Journal', conducted a topic modeling analysis of journals related to 'sports safety' in both countries. The purpose of this study is to compare the similarities and differences between two sets of topic words and use these findings as a basis for improving sports safety prevention efforts in Korea. [Methods] This study crawled 241 Korean sports safety journals and 251 American sports safety journals, and extracted 571 and 705 key words, respectively. Therefore, LDA topic modeling using python was performed to analyze the topic words of journals in both countries, and visualized using LDAvis to compare the research trends in each country. [Results] Both countries' sports safety research is committed to enhancing sports safety through education and programs. However, the approaches differed based on cultural perceptions and regulations. As a result, Korean sports safety research seeks to strengthen the management system for prevention, including facilities, education, and norms, while American sports safety research focuses on safety and injury risks in specific sporting contexts.[Conclusions] Both countries' sports safety research is committed to enhancing sports safety through education and programs.
