現代國語 異種 語彙의 類義的 共存 樣相

본고는 점차 國語 語彙의 많은 부분을 차지해 가는 外來語를 중심으로 異種 語彙 間에 존재하는 類義語 雙을 조사하여 그 意味 關係를 밝히고자 하였다. ‘인터뷰, 테스트’ 등은 외래어가 多義的 意味를 갖는 경우로 해당 외래어가 ‘會見/面接, 試驗/檢査’와 같이 둘 이상의 단어와 類義 關係를 형성한다. 외래어가 한 가지 이상의 의미를 갖는다는 것은 그만큼 국어에서 一般化되어 쓰인다는 것을 의미한다. 한자어와 외래어가 의미 영역을 분담하는 예로 ‘診療所-클리닉, 日記帳-다이어리, 槪念-콘셉트’ 등이 있다. 이들은 화자가 유의 관계로 인식하기 힘들 정도로 의미 영역이 分化되었다. 고유어：한자어：외래어의 三種 대립을 보이는 예들 중 ‘배-船舶-보트, 모임-會議-미팅’은 고유어가 더 包括的인 의미를 지니고 한자어나 외래어가 分化된 의미를 갖는다. ‘틈-間隔-갭’은 세 단어가 일부 의미를 共有하면서 각각의 의미 영역을 分擔하고 있다.
Abstract
This paper aims to reveal the meaning relation between different kind vocabulary focusing on loanwords. The synonymous patterns of loanwords are classified into the binary opposition between native words vs. loanwords and Sino-Korean vs. loanwords and the ternary opposition between native words vs. Sino-Korean vs. loanwords. In the binary opposi- tion where the pair of loanwords is a purified word such as ‘쪽-page, 昇降機-elevator’, the conceptual difference between them is almost null. In some case of binary opposition between loanwords and Sino-Korean, loanwords are polysemous and corresponding Sino-Korean are two dif- ferent words such as ‘interview-會見/面接, test-試驗/檢査’. And in the case of the synonymous relation between ‘빛깔-色彩-color’, the corresponding words of a loanword have derived meanings. In this respect that loan- words have multiple meaning, we can know that the uses of loanwords have already been generalized. The examples where Sino-Korean and loanwords are differentiated in meaning domains are ‘診療所-clinic, 日記帳- diary, 槪念-concept’ etc. These examples are difficult for speakers to see the synonymous relation between them because the degree of meaning differentiation is high. In the case of ternary opposition between native words vs. Sino-Korean vs. loanwords such as ‘배-船舶-boat, 모임-會議- meeting’, native words have more general meanings and Sino-Korean and loanwords have specific meanings. In the examples such as ‘틈-間隔-gap’, three words have in common the some meaning and at the same time develops into their own meaning domains. In the case of ternary synonymous opposition, the possibility of meaning differentiation is high.
