기호자본주의 현실에서 모든 만물이 연결되는 초현실 시대에 우리의 육체성과 인격이 탈각되는 경험을 받아 들이며, 우리의 몸을 기계의 몸으로 업그레이드하며 우리 정신의 영생을 구가할 수 있다고 믿는 테크노-영지주의(techno-gnosticism)의 문제를 본고는 신학적으로 성찰해 보고자 한다. 우리의 뇌신경을 24시 간네트워크에 접속하면서, 한계비용 제로사회가 우리를 행복의 나라로 인도해 주리라는 전망들이 제4차 산업혁명이라는 표제 하에 높아진다. 하지만 이러한 미래적 전망은 우리의 쾌락적 욕망이 투사된 믿음에 더 가깝다. 그 믿음은 미래의 행복에 대한 바램과 기대를 토대로 하는 것이다. 바로 여기서 믿음의 종교성이 도착적으로 전용된다. 우리가 믿어야 할 것은 슬픔과 좌절과 상처와 고통이 없는 미래가 아니라, 바로 그러한 고난과 난관의 한복판에서 우리와 더불어 공생하며 살아가는 존재들에 대한 신뢰이다. 지젝은 이를 신앙 혹은 신뢰라고 불렀다. 삶과 생명의 근본구조는 존재들의 얽힘(entanglement)이다. 모든 존재가 모든 존재와 더불어 작용한다. 그것은 때로 슬프기도 때로 고통스럽기도 하지만, 우리의 희망이 터할 곳은 다름 아닌 바로 그 현실이다. 기독교적 영성이 영지주의를 거절한 것은 바로 그 현실의 실재성에 대한 긍정이었고, 그것이 나이와 신분과 성에 상관없이 함께 모여 예배할 때 하나님 나라가 실현 된다는 신앙에 기반한 믿음이었다.
Abstract
In this paper, I will explore the issue of the so-called techno-gnositicsm, which believes that one can live forever by upgrading one’s biological body with the robotic body. This techno-gnostic dream is possible due to our semiocapitalistic actuality, in which everything is connected with everything, and this hyper-connected society is casting off our physicality and personality. Simply optimistic perspective of the future after the 4th Industrial Revolution has surged into our expectation that the zero marginal cost society, in which everyone logs onto the network 24 hours a day, will lead us to a land of happiness. However, this kind of future dream is not reality but rather a fantastic belief, onto which our hedonistic desire projects itself. For this kind of belief derives from our wish and expectation of the happiness in the future. Right here, our religious faith begins to be distorted and pervertly misappropriated. What one has to believe is not a future without sorrow, despair, scars and suffering but rather our trust in beings, who lives together with us right in the middle of the actuality of suffering and troubles, our trust in the beings of co-life. Žižek call this trust faith. The fundamental structure of life and human living is the entanglement of beings, in which all beings works with all beings together. This sometimes gives us a reason of sadness or sorrow, and sometimes reason of our laugh. This is the reality, on which our life should ground itself. The reason why Christian spirituality has rejected Gnosticism is that it affirms this reality. This affirmation was based upon truth or faith that the Kingdom of God will be actualized when we Christians have worship regardless of age, social status, sex and so on.
