텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 미중 AI 패권 경쟁 담론 비교 분석(2022-2025): 한국 언론의 키워드 네트워크, 토픽 모델링을 중심으로

본 연구는 미중 간 AI 패권 경쟁이 심화되는 상황 속에서 한국 언론이 해당이슈를 어떠한 담론으로 구성했는지 실증적으로 알아보고자 한 것이다. 연구 진행을 위해 텍스트 마이닝을 활용했으며, 세부적으로 키워드 빈도와 네트워크, 토픽 모델링 분석을 실시했다. 분석기간은 생성형 AI(CHATGPT)가 본격적으로 상용화된 시기를 고려해 2022년 12월부터 2025년 6월까지다. 분석 자료는 <경향신문>과 <한국일보>, <동아일보>, <한국경제>를 선정했다. 분석결과, 한국 언론은 공통적으로 경제와 산업 중심의 보도에 집중한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 언론사별로 성향에 따라 정부 정책과 지정학, 시장 중심 등 다양한 보도 프레임을 구성한 것으로 확인되었다. 하지만, 강대국의 기술 경쟁 속에서 한국만의 주체적인담론 구성은 미흡했음이 밝혀졌다. 본 연구는 이러한 분석을 통해 한국의 정보주권과 기술 외교 전략을 선도하기 위한 주도적 담론의 필요성을 제안했다.
Abstract
This study sought to empirically analyze how Korean media constructed discourse on the issue amid intensifying AI hegemony competition between the US and China. Text mining was used to conduct the study, specifically keyword frequency and network analysis, as well as topic modeling analysis. The analysis period was set from December 2022 to June 2025, considering the period when generative AI (ChatGPT) was fully commercialized. The analysis data was selected from the Kyunghyang Shinmun, Hankook Ilbo, Dong-A Ilbo, and Korea Economic Daily. The analysis results showed that Korean media outlets generally focused on economic and industrial-centered reporting. Additionally, it was confirmed that each media outlet constructed diverse reporting frameworks based on their respective orientations, such as government policies, geopolitics, and market-centric perspectives. However, it was revealed that Korea's ability to construct its own independent discourse was insufficient amid the technological competition between major powers. This study suggests the necessity of a proactive discourse to lead information sovereignty and technological diplomacy strategies in the midst of U.S.-China competition.
