Abstract

This thesis is a Study with regard to the Nonsense-Poem Theory of the poet, Kim Choon-Soo. Although many studies had been ever established hitherto about Nonsense-Poem Theory, there are still many difficult things to clearly grasp the identity. Its basic reason is because Nonsense-Poem Theory contains diverse theories and concepts therein. Likewise, the perceptional confusion with reference to Nonsense also influenced so. Especially, the contradictory point that unable to place as an equational relationship between the poem consisted of the language which accompanying a concept and Nonsense-Poem let the debaters become ensnared into the confusion. This thesis has begun from such interest about this matter and also has been clarified the identity of Kim Choon-Soo’s Nonsense-Poem Theory. The summarized result is as the followings:Nonsense-Poem Theory originates from a despair against a notion. Particularly, the cognition about the falsity of ready-made idea let it finds the excluding method of the notion from the poem. Therefore, Nonsense regards the ready-made idea as ridiculous, and it is quite connected with the poet’s volition that willing to destroy it. And, the ultimate purpose is a thing to reach a new and true world. If this is the ideological concept of Nonsense, its technique is shown various appearances such as Substance-centered Form focusing on the language and image, Free Association Test, Automatism, Anti-Novel Technique, and so on. As these are quite different from the existing ways that reproducing mainly the external object, these keep the characteristics transcending the external logic, by means of pursue the psychological thing. Namely, by insolently juxtapose them, at ostensible aspect the unity is not exposing form. Such technique is a kind of poetic skill such as ‘Making as Unfamiliar’, and there is also the formalized significance of the philosophical doubt that intend to approach the world and the truth of existence. A poem-like poem, rather than a mere meaning-conveyance, is sublimating to an artistic dimension, and it signifies that let the reader appreciates an aesthetic experience [Esthetisches Erlebnis]. Accordingly. in view of Kim Choon-Soo’s Nonsense-Poem Theory is the fruition born from an artistic consciousness that willing to raise the poetic stature in an artistic dimension, it could be highly evaluated.
