한중 문화 글로컬리즘의 실천사례 연구 –<용하형경>과 <극한직업>의 동시제작을 중심으로–

Abstract

In 2015, the “Korea–China Story Joint Development Project” was launched under the cooperation of the public and private sectors between the Republic of Korea and China. It was conducted for “One Source Multi Use” to produce varied content based on joint development of remarkable stories. “Lobster Cop” (2018) of China and “Extreme Job” (2019) of Korea, two films produced as part of this project, became the example of the practical challenges faced by glocalism in East Asia and the present status of cultural solidarity between Korea and China. The development of “Korea–China Story Joint Development Project” was stalled by Hanhanryeong (Embargo of Korean Products in China), and unnecessary argument simmered between Korean and Chinese netizens over "Lobster Cop" and "Extreme Job" concerning the external aspect of culture. However, the audience in the two countries, especially the millennials, shows cultural similarities. Their tastes deviate from traditional trends and orbits despite differences in their social background, providing an opportunity to examine common challenges faced by the two countries’ film industries. Therefore, this paper explores the possibility of a Korea–China alliance for developing the cultural industry in East Asia through a case analysis of the “Korea–China Story Joint Development Project.”
