본 연구는 외국어로서의 한국어문화교육에서 한국 문학과 문화에 나타나는 숫자 상징의 교육적 가치에 주목하고, 이를 활용하여 학습자의 상호문화역량 및 소통 능력 향상을 위한 상호문화교육 방안을 연구하는 것을 목표로 한다. 한국어교육에서 문화교육은 단순한 문화 지식 전달이나 문화 동화가 아니라, 타문화 이해와 존중을 바탕으로한 문화 간 소통을 통해 상호존중적 공존을 모색해야 한다. 본 연구는 이에 효과적인 제재로서 숫자 상징에 주목하여 한국어문화교육 방안을 구체화하였다. 이론적 배경을 토대로 한국의 숫자 상징에 대한 사례를 검토하고 분석함으로써, 숫자 상징이 한국어문화교육에서 갖는 의의와 이를 활용한 상호문화교육의 효용성을 밝혔다. 이후 각 나라의 숫자 상징을 비교 분석하여 공통점과 차이점을 고찰하였고, 이 과정에서 얻을 수 있는 상호문화역량에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한 상호문화적 관점에서 수업에 어떻게 활용할 수 있을지 수업 예시를 제시하여 수업 적용 방안을 구체화하였다. 본 연구는 숫자 상징을 활용한 한국어문화교육의 실제 교육 사례를 통해 상호문화적 관점에서 학습자의 능동적 참여를 촉진하는 교육 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 숫자 상징을 통한 교육의 효용성을 밝혀, 숫자 상징의 문화적 의의와 교육적 효과를 조명했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study focuses on the educational value of number symbolism found in Korean literature and culture within the context of Korean language and culture education for foreign learners. It aims to propose educational methods that utilize number symbolism to enhance learners' intercultural competence and communication skills. Rather than aiming for simple knowledge transfer or cultural assimilation, this study advocates for a cultural education approach that fosters intercultural communication through understanding and respecting other cultures, based on an intercultural perspective. Building upon this premise, this research specifically explores the use of number symbolism as an effective educational tool. By reviewing and analyzing cases of number symbolism in Korean culture based on theoretical backgrounds, this study outlines the significance of number symbolism in Korean language and culture education and the effectiveness of intercultural education using it. Furthermore, it compares and analyzes number symbolism across different countries, discussing commonalities and differences and examining the intercultural competencies that can be gained through this process. Additionally, it provides specific lesson examples on how to incorporate number symbolism into classroom settings from an intercultural perspective. Through practical educational examples of Korean language and culture education utilizing number symbolism, this study seeks to identify methods that promote learners' active participation from an intercultural perspective, resulting in concrete and practical research outcomes. This research holds significant value in illuminating the cultural significance and educational effectiveness of number symbolism in education.
