하나님 형상 연구: 융의 자기(The Self)와 융 모래놀이치료를 중심으로

초록

목회상담이 하나님 형상의 회복이라는 시각으로 바라볼 때 하나님 형상에 관한 이해는 중요한 주제이다. 이 하나님 형상에 관해 심리학적 탐구와 연구들이 있어왔는데 많은 연구들이 그 공헌에도 불구하고 환경이 하나님 형상에 지대한 영향을 준다고 하는 기본적 전제로 인해 환경을 뛰어 넘는 초월적 하나님 형상이해에 관해 충분히 설명할 수 없는 한계를 드러낸다. 그러나 융은 원형연구를 통해 이러한 초월적 하나님 형상에 깊이 있고 폭넓게 접근한다. 그의 정신분석적 원형이해는 보편적 객관적 가치를 기초로 한 심리학적 방법론이 가지고 있는 한계를 넘어서 집단무의식이라고 하는 자기의 상징을 통해 하나님 형상을 연구했다. 연구자는 정신분석적 방법론을 통해 신학적 연구에서 충분히 다루어진 하나님 형상을 살펴보았다. 하나님 형상에 관한 심리학적 선행연구를 통해 그 연구들의 공헌과 한계를 기술했고 융의 원형이론과 융 모래놀이치료과정 가운데 나타나는 주된 원형인 자기(the Self)와 기독교의 하나님 형상과의 관계를 탐구하였다. 구체적 임상 케이스를 고찰해봄으로써 융 모래놀이치료과정에 자연스럽게 나타나는 자기를 분석했으며 이를 통해 이 자기가 어떻게 내담자에게 치료적 영향을 주는 가를 분석했다. 마지막으로 연구자는 원형이 갖는 신학적의미를 고찰하고 이를 어떻게 기독교적 관점에서 통합적으로 해석과 이해를 할 것인지를 제안했다. 융의 정신분석적 방법이 심리학적 언어를 통해 하나님 형상에 대한 또 다른 해석의 길을 열어 놓는다는 것은 신학적 하나님 형상의 보편적 내재성에 관한 이해의 폭을 확장시킨다는 것을 의미한다. 이는 목회 상담가에게 임상적 현장을 신학과 심리학의 통합적 관점을 가지고 폭넓고 깊이 있게 접근할 수 있게 도울 뿐만 아니라 모래놀이치료에서 나타나는 신비한 하나님 형상을 경험함으로 변화하는 내담자들을 이해할 수 있는 이론적 실천적 기반을 제공한다. 이러한 논의를 전개하며 본연구자의 기본주장은 모래놀이치료의 임상적 현장에서 나타나는 치료적 결과는 심리학적 이해를 기초로 한 내담자와 치료자관계를 통해서 발생할 뿐만 아니라 이러한 것을 가능하게 하는 하나님 형상의 재발견과 경험을 통해 나타난다는 것을 이해해야한다는 것이다.

Abstract

The image of God is an important subject when we understand that pastoral counseling is based on faith. Although much research has contributed to the comprehension of the image of God from a psychological perspective, those studies have revealed limitations in sufficiently explaining a transcendental God. But Jung approached the transcendental Image of God through his archetypal study both deeply and widely. His psychoanalytical understanding of archetype overcame psychological methodology based on general and objective values and studied the symbols of the Self, part of the collective unconscious. Using psychoanalytical methodology, this researcher studied the image of God. First, this writer reveals the limitations as well as the contributions relating to the image of God through studying precedent research, and explores relationships between the Self, a major archetype appearing in sandplay therapy, and the Christian image of God. Then the Self, naturally appearing in the process of Jungian sandplay therapy, is studied by reviewing a clinical case and analyzing how the Self therapeutically affects a client. Through analysis, this researcher reflects on the theological meaning of the archetype and suggests how to interpret it from the Christian perspective. Jung's psychoanalytical methodology opens another interpretation relating to the image of God from a psychological perspective, which extends a broad understanding of a general intrinsic factor of the theological image of God. Therefore, this research not only helps pastoral counselors approach clinical situations with an integrated perspective of theology and psychology, but also gives a theoretical and practical understanding of clients who are transformed after experiencing the image of God in sandplay therapy. In conclusion, this researcher suggests that the result of therapeutic effect comes from a therapeutic relationship between therapists and clients, and more importantly, rediscovering as well as experiencing the symbols of the image of God.
