재중 대만인의 중국사회 적응과 발전:초국가적 사회영역을 중심으로

본 연구는 재중 대만인의 초국가적 활동의 특성을 이해하고자 노력했다. 전통적인 동화론적 시각에서의 이주민의 활동공간은 거주국 현지에 고정적이며, 신분정체성과 문화적 속성 역시 단일한 형태인데 반하여, 중국에 이주한 재중 대만인은 이와는 아주 다르다는 사실을 밝혀내었다. 대만과 중국의 경계를 넘나드는 지리적으로 매우 유동적인 특성을 가지고 있으며, 경제적 이익에 따라 매우 기민하게 행동하며 모국과의 경제적 연계, 제3국과의 경제적 연계를 더욱 강화하는 특성을 갖고 있다. 정치적 영역에서 그들은 매우 복합적인 신분 정체성을 갖고 있으며, 사회문화적으로도 대만 모국과의 지속적인 연계 등 초국가적 연계를 강화하면서 다원적인 정체성과 문화적 속성을 보여주고 있다.
Abstract
This study seeks to comprehend the characteristics of transnational activities of the Taiwanese in China. The study reveals that while the migrants' activity space is fixed in the country of residence, and the identities of status and the cultural attributes are also manifested as a single form in the respect of conventional theory of assimilation, the Taiwanese who migrated to China are very different from them. The Taiwanese in China are very geographically trafficable across the borders of Taiwan and China. They are also quite agile to economic interests and try to enhance economic ties with the third countries as well as their homeland. On the other hand, they maintain a complex identities of status in the political arena, and show pluralistic identities and cultural attributes, strengthening transnational links such as continuous linkage with their homeland, Taiwan from the sociocultural point of view.
