Abstract

The status and role of women in central asian local communities had began to change since in imperial russian colonial period and it rapidly developed in soviet central asian period. In the analysis on the status of women in Central Asian communities most analysis focus on the influence of islamic factors and russian factors, because islam had influenced on Central Asian community since in the middle of 7th century and russian culture also influenced in central asian society from beginning of 18th century. In this analysis the differences of islamic factors and social influences among various central asian communities. Central asian regions traditionally had divided as the area of agricultural settled-civilization and nomadic areas. This factor is tightly related with acceptance of Islam in Central Asia. Islam spreaded and influenced into the agricultural-trade-based zones and its’ spreading changed social culture of settled communities. Contrasting with the changes of settlements areas, islamic cultures in the nomadic zones did not influenced and changed local communities, because most kazakh nomadic areas firstly accepted Islam after 18th Century via russian-tatar islam missioners as a new pattern of everyday life, not as a new religion. This cultural and islamic features had influenced into the Soviet central asian periods and it broke out conflicts between islamic traditional groups and supporters of soviet social reformation process in the beginning of 1920ties. The degree of linkage to the Islam in nomadic and non-nomadic of community reflected into the flexibility of women role and status in central asian indigenous ethnic groups.
