(The People’s Republic of Bulgaria)이 성립되며 공산주의자들이 국내 정치를 장악하게 된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Central and Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union and what type of influence the Soviet Union exerted in the process of the establishment and transformation of the communist regime in Central and Eastern Europe. The main focus is on Bulgaria, which had the closest relations with the Soviet Union among the Central and Eastern European countries. Bulgaria is the Soviet Union's ally and has a long history of close ties to it, earning their relationship the moniker of 'Father and Son relationship'. The Soviet Union liberated Bulgaria, which was under the rule of the Ottoman Empire for roughly five centuries, through the Russo-Turkish War. The Soviets stationed in Bulgaria after World War II and the Fatherland Front, an organization of pro-Soviet communists, took over the Bulgarian regime. The Soviet Union also helped to break down the fascism prevalent in Bulgaria after the war. In 1944, the People's Republic of Bulgaria was established, and communists took over domestic politics. They promoted a Stalin-style economic plan and enacted a Bulgarian constitution similar to that of the Soviet Union. The collapse of the communist regime in Bulgaria was also influenced by the Soviet Union. The goal of this paper is to examine the rise and fall of the Bulgarian communist system through the lens of history and the relationship between Bulgaria and the Soviet Union.
