칸트 비판철학에서 주체의 비동일성 문제

일반적으로 칸트적 주체의 자기동일성은 당연한 것으로 전제되지만, 칸트의비판철학은 이질성 혹은 비동일성을 본질적 계기로 하는 주체성에 대한 사유를가능케 하는 요소들을 품고 있다. 세계와의 관계에서 현상과 사물 자체의 분리를낳는 비판철학적 주체의 초월성은 자기 자신과의 관계에서는 자기인식과 자기의식의 분리를 정립하고 이 분리는 다시 현상적 주체-초월적 주체-예지적 주체의 분열을 가리키는바, 이것이 주체의 수직적 분열이다. 이처럼 서로 다른 층위의 ‘자기’를 정립하는 초월적 주체는 또한 그 자체가 그것을 구성하는 마음의 능력들의본성적 차이에 의해 분열되어 있는바, 이것은 주체의 수평적 분열이다. 이성이 불가피한가상의 원천으로나타나는 초월적 가상론, 이성적 동물의 분열을 가리키는의무론, 이성과 상상력이 서로에게 가하는 ‘폭력’의 효과를 분석하는 숭고론과 천재론은 칸트 비판철학에서 능력들의 이질성이 본질적으로 제거불가능하며 따라서초월적 주체가 동일성과 동일시될 수 없음을 보여주는 장면들이다. 이와 같은 논의를 통해 확인되는 칸트적 주체의 비동일성은 자기동일적 주체에 대한 비판을특징으로 하는 현대 주체 이론의 맥락에서 칸트 철학을 재해석하기 위한 이론적출발점이 될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
While the self-identity of Kantian subject is generally assumed to be self-evident, Kant's critical philosophy has the elements that posit the non-identical subjectivity in which heterogeneity is essential. The transcendentality of subject, which leads to the separation between phenomenon and noumenon in relation to the world, establishes the divide between Selbsterkenntnis and Sebstbewustsein in relation to subject itself, which in turn refers to the division of the phenomenal subject-transcendental subjectnoumenal subject. This is the vertical division of the subject. The transcendental subject that determines such vertical division of the subject is also divided by the natural heterogeneity of faculties that constitutes it, which is the horizontal division of the subject. The doctrine of transcendental illusion where reason proves to be the source of ineradicable illusions, the deontological ethics that refers to the divide of rational animal, and the theories of the sublime and the genius which analyze effects of 'violence' that reason and imagination exert on each other these are scenes revealing that the heterogeneity of faculties in Kant's critical philosophy is inherently indelible and therefore the transcendental subject cannot be identified with identity. The non-identity of Kantian subject thus identified could be a theoretical starting point for reinterpreting Kant's philosophy in the context of contemporary subject theory characterized by criticismof self-identical subject.
