Abstract
We make use of Korean labor panel data to test the constant relative risk aversion hypothesis. Risky assets are defined as the sum of stock holdings and non-residential real estate holdings, which takes into account the characteristics of Korean household portfolios. We found the presence of sample selection bias in the panel regression model and accordingly use the two-step estimation methods of Wooldridge(1995). The results show that the constant relative risk aversion hypothesis is clearly rejected in a robust manner and that the share of risky assets depends on the level of household assets.
