Abstract
Plato's ideas, influenced by Being of Parmenides, have been generally understood to be immutable. However, if an idea is an immutability in the solemn meaning of being unable to move, it does not harmonize with the occasion of Plato's philosophy, which sought to save the real world. If Plato's immutable ideas cannot exert influence and have no power to move the present world, it is difficult to explain the changes in the world. It is also indistinguishable from Parmenides. This article analyzes the contents of Sophistes 247d-249d to reveal that Plato's idea of immutability does not mean that it does not move like a dead stuffed Sample, but that it is immutable with the aspect of change.
