초록

The flags of a country contains the identity of the people, rather the idealized identity for each country by those with vested rights. As the similarity and diversity among the flags of the countries, among the Spanish-speaking countries there are common points between them because of the history they share with each other and there is also a diversity of aboriginal culture of each country, etc. There are several ways to approach the study of the public identity of a country or an area. Even so, be aware of the national symbols must be a very effective alternative to deal with the fundamental identity of the people of a nation. The national anthem, the national flag, the national coat of arms, etc.. of a country represent the idealized national identification. In this paper we will observe the idealistic and historical relations among the flags of Spanish speaking countries, and the idigenous elements that are represented in some Latin American flags. In the flags of these countries, the European ideology is dominant and sometimes the indigenous elements appear only anecdotal. But the social change recognize the right of the indigenous people, the indigenous people are already beginning to have its own flag, the Wiphala, as a national flag. The Bolivians’ Wiphala is hoisted alongside the national flag in position. That seems a big step for the reworking of the identity and the social position of the marginalized indigenous people.
