이 논문에서는 자동사 구문에 출현한 스페인어 대명사 se에 관해 연구하고자 한다. 구체적으로, 본고는 여타 타동사와 함께 나타나 종결 해석과 관련 있는 se의 경우와 마찬가지로 단순히 se를 상적표지로 간주하는 것은 자동사 구문에서 대명사 se의 출현 유무에 따른 진정한 의미적 차이를 설명할 수 없다고 주장한다. 또한, 자동사 구문에 동사의 논항구조와 상관없이 출현한 대명사 se는 통사구조에서 TP와 VP 사이에 투사된 기능구의 핵이 가진 추상적인 형식자질들이 음성부에서 실현된 형태로 나타나며 이와 같은 형식자질들은 동사 진행과정의 “자연스러움” 또는 동사의 행위를 실현하는 주어의 “자발적 의지”와 관련이 있다고 제안한다. 결론적으로, 자동사와 함께 출현하는 대명사 se는 타동사 구문의 se와 마찬가지로 적절한 의미적 해석을 제공하는 통사 구조적 측면에서 분석되어야 한다.
Abstract
This paper investigates the occurrence of the Spanish pronoun se with intransitive verbs. I argue that considering se as merely an aspectual marker, just like in the case of transitive verbs with telic interpretation manifested in se, cannot account for the genuine semantic difference between intransitive verbs with or without the pronoun se. I suggest that in contexts where the pronoun se appears regardless of the argument structure of the verb, it is a PF-realization of abstract formal features encoded in a functional head in between TP and VP, and that such kinds of formal features are related to either the ‘naturalness’ of the process denoted by the verb or the ‘willingness’ of the subject which realizes the action expressed by the verb. In conclusion, the pronoun se appearing with intransitive verbs should be analyzed in the light of the syntactic structures that provide the relevant semantic interpretations, similar to the case of transitive verbs with se.
