미겔 델리베스는 20세기 스페인을 대표하는 소설가이다. 전후 작가로 알려진 델 리베스의 작품들은 주로 내전 이후의 스페인 사회를 묘사하며 사회적 사실주의 소 설로 인식된다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 작가의 기존 서사와 다르게 진행되는 『마리 오와의 다섯 시간』을 분석하려 한다. 이전 작품인 『쥐떼』의 검열을 계기로 델리베 스는 출판을 위한 새로운 대안을 모색한다. 『마리오와의 다섯 시간』에서는 기존 소 설에서 주로 다루었던 유년기 주인공의 성장과 이를 중심으로 사건이 펼쳐지는 것과는 다른 서사 방식을 보여준다. 주인공 마리오의 죽음으로 시작되는 이야기와 장 례식이라는 설정을 통해 죽은 듯한 스페인 사회에서 수동적인 자세만 취하는 개인 과 사회의 모습을 우회적으로 비판하고 있다. 또한 소설 대부분을 차지하는 카르멘 의 독백은 죽은 남편을 향한 카르멘의 일방적이고 강압적인 말하기를 비유적으로 나타낸다. 무력하게 누워있는 상대방을 향한 일방적인 말하기가 갖는 편협성과 폭 력성을 통해 프랑코 독재사회를 상징적으로 고발하고 있다.
Abstract
Miguel Delibes is a leading novelist in 20th century Spain. Delibes' works, known as post-war writer's, mainly depict Spanish society after the civil war and are recognized as social realism novels. However, in this study, we try to analyze Cinco horas con Mario, which is interpreted differently from the previous point of view. With the censorship of his previous work, Las ratas, Delibes seeks a new alternative for publication. Cinco horas con Mario shows a different narrative method from the growth of the childhood protagonist and the unfolding of events centered on it, which were mainly dealt with in existing novels. Through the story that begins with the obituary of the protagonist Mario and the setting of his funeral, Delibes tries to critically look at the society and individual who take only a passive posture in a dead Spanish society. And through Carmen's monologue, which occupies most of the novel, Carmen's speech is said to be nothing more than a one-way conversation to his deceased husband, Mario. In addition, the artist quietly exposes the intolerance and violence of one-sided speech toward helpless opponents, concealing the Franco dictatorship.
