체벌에 있어서 아리스토텔레스의 습관화로서의 도덕교육 방법

본 연구는 학교교육 현장에서 이루어지고 있는 학생 체벌에 있어서 가장 적절하다고 생각되는 도덕교육 방법을 논의하였다. 이를 위하여 사유의 중심 주제 가운데 하나였던 고대 그리스시대의 사상적 대변자로 꼽을 수 있는 아리스토텔레스의 이론을 살펴보았다. 아리스토텔레스는 학생과 교사에게 적절한 도덕교육 방법은 도덕적 행동을 습관화시키는 것이 가장 효과적이라고 보았다. 이와 같이 아리스토텔레스의 습관화 고찰은 학교교육에서 학생과 교사에게 제시되는 도덕교육 방법의 기초연구로서 그 의의를 갖는다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore moral education based on the Aristotelian concept of habituation in corporal punishment. This thesis examines methodology of a moral education deemed appropriate for children and based mainly on the educational ideas of the ancient Greeks who held virtues as main theme of rationality. According to Aristotle, assuring the habituation of moral behaviors is the most effective means of predisposing the will of children and teachers toward proper moral behavior.
