Abstract
· Research topics: This study examined the mediating effect of burnout in the relationship between post-traumatic stress disorder and turnover intention among social workers. · Research background: Social workers, due to their broad professional activities, are highly susceptible to experiencing post-traumatic stress from various factors, leading to burnout, which in turn becomes a risk factor for turnover intention. therefore, there is a need to develop effective inervention strategies. · Differences from prior research: Previous studies have focused on the impact of post-traumatic stress on burnout or depression among social workers, but they have limitations in exploring turnover after experiencing intense events. · Research method: To examine the mediating effect of burnout in the relationship between post-traumatic stress and turnover intention among social workers, SPSS 29.0 and PROCESS macro model 4 were utilized for analysis. · Research results: The results indicated that the higher the post-traumatic stress level, the greater the turnover intention, and burnout was found to partially mediate this relationship. · Contribution points and expected effects: At a time when post-traumatic stress among social workers is on the rise, this study holds significance as it provides foundational data and derives social welfare implications for effective management through the verification of burnout’s mediationg effect.
