오봉 신지제의 학문 경향과 삶의 제 양상

Abstract

Ohbong Shin Ji-je achieved radical academic development while studying under Yu Il-jae Kim Eon-gi, and the academic influence of Hakbong Kim Seong-il on him seems not a little. It's been confirmed that he was well versed in diverse books including 『Sohak』 and the seven Chinese Confucian classics, which were intellectuals' must-read, Du Fu's poems, and Seongridaejeon. He also loved reading 『the Collection of Toegye's works』, and he completed inner discipline through 『Kokyeongjungmabang』 in it. In this paper, Ohbong's studies and life were categorized into several characteristics and analyzed. He practiced filial behaviors with both aspects of Zengzi's Yangji(養志) and Meng Zong's and Wang Xiang's Yangguche(養口體). His filial piety was transferred to loyalty to the nation, and showed a model of an upright classical scholar who refused illegal requests and didn't flatter power all through his official career. In addition, his just rule and spirit to help the needy as a governor brought about the outcome of erection of a Tarubi monument wherever he went. Moreover, his wise overcoming of the Japanese invasions of Korea while serving as a Hyeongam in Yeahn sheds a new light on him as a faithful subject who was good at both literary and martial arts. Also, the delicate literary expressions of <Sightseeing to Mt. Cheongryang> can be a good enough resource for him to be spotlighted as a poet.
