Abstract

In this thesis, I’ve looked through the structure and contents of 『Sigujabchejip(詩句雜體集) in the Yanching Library of Harvard University. This book has no preface or publication, and the writer is not revealed, so it is not clear when and how it was written. However, there is only a record that Geumhaksanin published it in Jueongmyo Year, but it is not known who Geumhaksanin is. Yun Chongnam and Kim Shenghwan presumed that Geumhaksanin is Jeong Hamuk in The Interpretation of Korean Treasures in Yanching Library of Harvard University Vol.2, there is no discussion on why it was assumed to be so. The information on Geumhaksanin is widely found in The Selection of the late Joseon Dynasty written by Cho Yusoo. According to the data, he was a figure named Lee On, and he did not hold a government post but built a secret place called Gujisanjang somewhere near Munsusa Temple in Cheongpyeong, where the remains of Yi Jahyeon are located. He wrote poems well, especially "Yusan Song" which was widely known to people at the time. Cho Yusoo, who lived in Chuncheon, seems to have been very close to him. However, we have yet to find a definitive clue to confirm whether Lee On, a Geumhaksanin, is the writer of this book. The book contains six contents: the first, classifying and illustrating the style of the poetry of Tang Dynasty; the second, describing the style of the poetry of Song Dynasty; the third, explaining the epigram of Korean poets; the fourth, introducing the two-four phrases; the fifth, summarizing the categories and contents of the collective poem; the sixth, emphasizing on the transformation method and the ignition method. Among them, the first and second parts are from Siyinokseol, a book of the critic named We Gyeongji from Song Dynasty, and the third part is the author of the book himself summarizes the epigrams of poets from Silla Choi Chi-won to the mid-Joseon Period. Unlike other collections of historical poems, his intention and efforts are highly appreciated. The fourth part is about the two-four phrases which is designed to help you learn poetry writing by selecting spoken words that can be immediately applied to the site of writing poetry. In particular, the combination and selection of spoken words are highly regarded. The fifth discussion of collective poems is more than a discussion of collective poems of Siyinoksul, a poet, written by We Gyeongji, and introduces much more collective poems than MuncheMyungByen of Seo Sazeng from the Ming Dynasty. The sixth method of transformation and ignition shows that the author puts great importance on transformation, transformation, and ignition in writing poems, and also highly appreciated the fact that he referred to the works of various poems for definition and explanation of transformation, transformation, and ignition. Although much of this book is derived from Chinese works such as Siyinokseol, it is highly appreciated for providing practical needs of Korean Chinese poetry in new aspects and organizing various forms of spoken language and mixed materials.
