마르크스주의에 제기되는 전통적 비판 중 하나는 그것이 토대와 상부구조론에입각해 있기 때문에 자율적 영역으로서의 정치 혹은 ‘정치적인 것’에 관한 논의를전개시키지 못했다는 데에 기인한다. 전통적 마르크스주의에 대한 포스트마르크스주의적인 비판가들은 ‘사회적인 것’의 효과이자 표현 혹은 반영으로서 ‘상부구조’ 에 할당되는 ‘정치’라는 개념으로부터, 사회와는 독자적인 고유한 자율적 영역으로서, 역으로 사회에 반작용을 가하거나 그보다 우위에 있는 실천의 공간을 구분하기위해 ‘정치적인 것’이라는 표현을 사용한다. 그렇다면 마르크스에게서 하나의 토대위의 상부구조라는 좁은 의미에서의 ‘정치’에 관한 이론(전통적 의미에서의 마르크스주의 국가론, 법이론, 이데올로기론 등) 외에, ‘정치적인 것’의 사유가 존재할 수있을 것인가? 자본주의적 형태의 ‘사회적 지배’에 관한 마르크스의 비판들이 오늘날 타당하다 하더라도, 그로부터 정치적 실천들에 관한 논의들이 자동적으로 도출되는 것은 아니다. 그러나 전통적 마르크스주의는 ‘정치적인 것’에 관한 물음을 오로지 특정한 사회적 질서의 파생물로 환원하는 토대주의(foundationalism)의 관점에서 벗어나지 못했다. 이 글은 크로이츠나흐 시절 전후 마르크스 사유의 단초들과성숙기 마르크스의 정치적 사유, 즉 계급투쟁의 정치적 성격과 파리 코뮌의 권력이갖는 민주적 요소들에 관한 고찰을 결합해, 마르크스의 사유로부터 ‘정치적인 것’을재구성하고자 시도한다. 이러한 논의는 국가사멸론이라는 목가적 유토피아론이 성립불가능한 사유이며 동시에 역설적 결과를 초래했다는 비판을 전제하는 것이며, 이를 통해 이 글은 오늘날 계급투쟁을 대항정치의 시각에서 사유하고자 한다.
Abstract
One of the traditional critiques posed to Marxism is that it did not develop debates on politics as an autonomous territory or so called ‘the political’, because it stands on the doctrine of basis and superstructure. Post-Marxist critiques of the traditional Marxism distinguish the concept of ‘politics’ which is assigned to ‘superstructure’ as effects, expressions or reflections of ‘the social’ from ‘the political’, the space of practice that can cause reactions to or, hence, is superior to the society. If so, can there be thoughts on ‘the political’ by Marxism, in addition to theory of ‘politics’ which is understood in the narrow sense of the superstructure on a basis (Marxist debates on state law, ideology, etc. in the traditional sense)? Traditional Marxism has not escaped from the standpoint of foundationalism, which has reduced the question of ‘politics’ to a derivative of a particular social order. This article explores the possibility of the reconstruction of ‘the political’ by combining Marx’s political thoughts in Kreuznach era with his political considerations in his mature time about the political nature of class struggle and the democratic elements of the power of the Paris Commune. It presupposes critiques that the pastoralist utopian theory of ‘withering away of the state’ is an inconceivable thinking and at the same time has caused paradoxical consequences, and through this point, this article intends to sketch the class struggle in the viewpoint of counter-politics today.
