Abstract
Marx’s political ideology was influenced by Robespierre’s radical republicanism, which had begun with Rousseau, and Babeuf’s communism during the French Revolution. Buonarrotti resurrected Babeuf’s communism in Marx’s era after the July Revolution of 1830. After Buonarroti’s death, Blanqui passed on the legacy of Babeuf to the Bund der Gerechten, a branch of the Societe des Saisons in which Marx participated. Weitling, who took the lead in the Bund der Gerechten, insisted on the communism of workers that combined Neobabouvisme and Christian communism. Marx erased Weitling’s communism in solidarity with Schapper and founded the Bundes der Kommunisten, whose program was Manifest der Kommunistischen Partei. Robespierre took Rousseau as his teacher, and Babeuf and Buonarroti regarded themselves as Robespierre’s successors. In particular Buonarroti, who livied from the French Revolution until 1837, exerted his direct influence on Blanqui. Marx interacted with Blanqui and Weitling, critically accepting their ideas. Neobabouvisme became the source of Marxism, as seen in its demands for the abolition of private property, anti-religious attitudes, the combination of communists and the masses, armed uprisings, dismantling of the bourgeois state, and the transitional dictatorship of revolutionary powers. Since Neobabouvisme was born among the radical Jacobins, especially the Montagnards, Marx’s political ideology originated from this radical element in the French Revolution.
