이 논문은 지젝의 실재 개념과 주체 개념을 중심으로 그의 존재론적 견해를 탐구한다. 지젝의 사고의 중심에는 라캉의 실재 개념이 있다. 지젝의 관심사는 상징적현실의 빈틈에 주목하고 그것을 주체의 자유 가능성과 새로운 질서의 입안에 대한조건으로 해석하는 것이다. 지젝에 따르면 상징적 질서는 실재의 근원적 억압을 통해 구성된다. 그러나 억압된 현실은 사라지지 않고 적대의 형태로 회귀한다. 실재는상징적 질서의 구성을 위해 필수적이지만, 다른 한편 일관된 전체를 형성하는 것을저지하는 부정성이다. 또한 지젝은 데카르트적 주체의 복권을 통해 탈중심화된 주체에 대한 포스트구조주의적 개념을 극복하려고 시도하지만, 현대성의 주체 개념으로 되돌아가지는 않는다. 오히려 그의 목표는 코기토(cogito)의 “잊혀진 뒷면”을 밝히는 것이다. 코기토의 잊혀진 뒷면은 광기, 무의식과 충동을 포함한다. 지젝에게충동은 결코 동물적 본능을 의미하지 않는다. 오히려 충동은 생물학적, 경제적 이익저편에 놓여 있는 근본적인 부정성의 영역이다. 지젝은 주체의 부정성에 중점을 둔다. 왜냐하면 그는 상징적 질서로 통합될 수 없는 해방의 잠재력이 그 안에 은닉되어 있다고 보기 때문이다.
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to explore Zizek’s ontology, focusing on his concept of the real and the subject. At the centre of Žižek’s thinking is the Lacanian concept of the real. Žižek’s concern is to draw attention to the gap in symbolic reality and to interpret it as a condition of the subject’s freedom and the construction of a new order. According to Žižek, the symbolic order is constituted by the original suppression of the real. However, the repressed real has not disappeared, but always returns in the form of an antagonism. Futhermore, Žižek attempts to overcome the poststructuralist concept of the decentered subject through the rehabilitation of the Cartesian subject, but without returning to the subject concept of modernity. Rather, his aim is to bring the “forgotten back” of the cogito to light. This forgotten back covers the madness, the unconscious and the drive. For Žižek, the drive does not mean animal instinct. It is rather the realm of radical negativity that lies beyond biological and economic interest. Žižek focuses on the negativity of the subject, because he sees in it an emancipatory potential hidden that cannot be integrated into the symbolic order.
