3세대 IMT-2000 서비스의 상용화에 따라 이동통신망이 기존의 CDMA망과 신규 WCDMA망이 혼재되는 양상을보이고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 현상에 기반하여 기존 CDMA망 환경 및 서비스를 충분히 고려하여 신규 WCDMA망을 효과적으로 도입할 수 있는 두가지 방안을 제시하고 있다. Dual-Stack 솔루션 및 IMS 솔루션이 그것으로서 망사업자 입장에서는 기존망에 미치는 영향을 최소화하면서 투자비를 절감하고, 가입자 입장에서는 서비스의 연속성을 최대한 보장하도록 하는 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 나아가 향후 망이 점차 다양해지는 추세에 대응하여 Converged Network으로 망이 진화하는 당위성을 제공하고 그 출발점으로서의 역할을 수행한다.
Abstract
According as the 3rd generation IMT-2000 service is launched the mobile telecommunication network shows that the legacy CDMA network and new WCDMA network coexist. Based on this situation, this paper proposes and describes two solutions which effectively introduce new WCDMA network considering the legacy CDMA network and services environment. Those are the Dual-Stack solution and the IMS solution. They not only minimize an effect to the legacy network and reduce the cost for deploying the new network, they but also ensure the service continuity between the two heterogenous networks. Furthermore, they play a starting role in the trend of the network convergence when the network evolves to be complex and various.
